Depending on the type of electric motor and the tasks at hand, converters for main drives and feed drives are divided into several specialized product lines.
4XXX Series: For Separately Excited Direct Current (DC) Motors
This line is designed to control both main drives and feed drives. It includes the following modifications:
-
4XXX-XXX-1X (Base Model) — a classic solution providing precise control of speed and torque.
-
4XXX-XXX-2X — a version supporting the MODBUS protocol and a positioning function based on internal referencing.
-
4XXX-XXX-3X — a converter with a MODBUS interface, internal positioning, and an integrated algorithm for active compensation of mechanical backlash in the equipment.
-
4XXX-XXX-4X — an advanced modification featuring backlash compensation, supporting position control from both internal and pulse referencing.
12XXX / 13XXX / 14XXX Series: Feed Drives for Permanent Magnet DC Motors
This group of devices is designed specifically for controlling machine tool feeds.
-
12XXX/XXX (Base Series) — controls speed and torque. It features a built-in interface and a set of functions perfectly adapted for CNC machines. Excellent for equipment modernization: it easily replaces outdated analog drives (KEMEK, KEMTOK, KEMRON, as well as units from FANUC, SIEMENS, and their analogs).
-
13XXX/XXX — a modification with the MODBUS protocol and internal reference positioning. It supports three operating modes: standalone, controlled by CNC systems, or by a PLC (via a serial interface).
-
14XXX/XXX — a versatile version with MODBUS, allowing position control both internally and via pulses. It can operate completely independently, receive commands from a PLC via a serial port, or be controlled by a CNC and PLC through pulse movement referencing.
Specialized versions of the 12XXX series:
-
12XXX WSM — specialized drives designed for electric motors equipped with three armature terminals (such as the Czech 3SHAT, WSM2 from the GDR, and their analogs). They are used in the renovation of Mezomatik-A feed systems and to replace outdated TUD 6 analog units (in WSA2 drives). Optimized for seamless integration with modern CNCs.
-
12XXX/400 — a high-voltage version of the converters. Developed for permanent magnet motors requiring an increased armature voltage (up to 440 V).
