Three-Phase Autotransformer ATF Series
Efficient Voltage Matching Solution for Industrial Power Networks
ATF series three-phase autotransformers are heavy-duty electrical equipment designed to step up or step down three-phase AC voltage levels. Unlike standard isolation transformers, autotransformers feature a single continuous winding shared by both primary and secondary circuits, providing a direct electrical (galvanic) connection between them.
Since part of the power is transferred directly via electrical path, core and copper losses are minimized (efficiency up to 98-99%).
Significantly smaller footprint and lower weight compared to traditional isolation transformers of equivalent capacity.
Reduced demand for copper windings and electromagnetic steel core laminations noticeably lowers the manufacturing cost.
The physical size of the ATF magnetic core depends on its design (equivalent) power rating, which is substantially lower than the actual load power when the input and output voltage ratios are close to 1:
- Industrial Automation & Drives: Connecting imported machinery, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and servo systems designed for 220V/230V 3-phase to standard 400V grids.
- Machine Tool Retrofitting: Upgrading CNC machinery, automated production lines, and conveyor systems.
- Power Grid Systems: Interconnecting high-voltage systems of close voltage tiers where solid neutral grounding is utilized.
