Limit Switches for Bulgarian Electric Hoists
The lifting mechanism limit switch is a primary safety device for an electric hoist. It prevents accidents such as the hook block crashing into the drum, rope breakage, or electric motor failure. The device automatically breaks the contactor control circuit when the hook reaches its maximum upper or lower position.
Bulgarian-made switches of the KI and KI-PDT series are highly valued for their reliability. Their housings are made of special fireproof plastic that withstands temperatures up to +300°C. They are mounted under the motor's terminal box cover and interact with a special rod and limit rings ("crackers").
Limit Switch Model Range
- Limit switch KI-G11 — installed on lightweight wire rope hoists with capacities of 0.5 and 1.0 tons. Features a specific lever mount (with a round hole) for the traction rod.
- Limit switch KI-G1 — designed for heavier equipment (hoists from 2.0 to 10.0 tons). Unlike the G11, its lever has a special groove for the rod fork.
- Limit switch KI-62 — a universal model. Frequently used on traveling chain hoists (capacities from 0.5 tons) and various crane mechanisms.
- Limit switch KI-PDT — a forced-action device with two-stage protection. If the first pair of contacts sticks, the second stage is activated, completely and urgently de-energizing the system. Essential for facilities with enhanced safety requirements.
